The Apex Grille at M1 Concourse's X Center is looking for an experienced, engaging hosts for our opening team. We're looking for someone who understands that great hospitality starts the moment a guest walks through the door. You'll welcome guests warmly, manage reservations and seating, communicate wait times, and help keep the dining room flowing smoothly. You'll work closely with servers, managers and the culinary team to make sure every guest feels seen and taken care of.  Upscale-casual, polished-casual or high-volume restaurant experience is preferred.  We're looking for hospitality professionals with personality, awareness, professionalism and genuine warmth.  If hospitality is something you practice rather than perform, we'd like to meet you. JOB SUMMARY
The X Center Apex Grille Host is responsible for creating a warm, welcoming first impression while managing guest arrival, reservations, wait times, seating and overall dining-room flow. This position serves as the first and final point of contact for many guests and ensures each person feels acknowledged, expected and genuinely cared for from arrival through departure. The Host maintains clear communication with Servers, Bartenders, culinary personnel and management to support balanced seating, efficient service and a premium hospitality experience. The X Center Apex Grille Host shall represent M1 Concourse with the highest level of professionalism, warmth and decorum.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accurately records reservation details, contact information, party size, special requests and other required information. 
• Adjusts seating decisions based on party size, table availability, reservations, service capacity, accessibility needs and management direction. 
• Answers telephone calls and responds to reservation inquiries, operating questions and general guest requests professionally. 
• Assists with accommodating large parties, private events, terrace dining and special functions as assigned. 
• Assists with table resets, menu preparation, light service support and other reasonable restaurant responsibilities when host coverage and guest flow permit. 
• Communicates seating activity, large-party arrivals, delays, guest concerns and changing dining-room conditions to management and affected Team Members. 
• Confirms reservations and gathers the information necessary to accommodate walk-in guests accurately.
• Coordinates with culinary and restaurant leadership when seating pace must be adjusted to protect service quality. 
• Coordinates with Servers, Bussers, Food Runners and management to confirm table availability and readiness. 
• Develops and follows seating rotations designed to balance Server workloads and support efficient kitchen and bar execution. 
• Ensures menus are clean, current, complete and presented in good condition. 
• Ensures tables are properly cleaned, reset and ready before seating guests. 
• Escorts guests to their assigned tables confidently and at an appropriate pace. 
• Maintains a clean, organized and welcoming host stand, entrance, waiting area and menu-storage area. 
• Maintains appropriate communication with waiting guests and offers available alternatives when delays occur. 
• Maintains awareness of table status, including seated, ordering, dining, check-presented, departing and resetting stages. 
• Maintains compliance with M1 Concourse policies, Apex Grille procedures and applicable guest-service, sanitation, privacy and safety requirements. 
• Manages reservations, guest profiles, seating assignments and waitlists using the designated reservation or restaurant-management system. 
• Monitors the entrance, waiting area and dining room and responds proactively to guest needs. 
• Presents menus and provides a polished introduction to the restaurant, assigned Server and relevant dining information. 
• Provides realistic and accurate wait-time estimates and keeps waiting guests informed of changes or delays. 
• Recognizes returning guests when possible and uses available guest information to personalize the experience appropriately. 
• Responds professionally to guest concerns and promptly involves management when additional assistance is required. 
• Reviews reservation notes and communicates special occasions, accessibility requests, seating preferences and other relevant guest information. 
• Supports guests with accessibility needs and coordinates appropriate seating or assistance. 
• Thanks departing guests sincerely, invites them to return and communicates relevant feedback to management. 
• Welcomes and acknowledges each arriving guest promptly with warmth, professionalism and genuine hospitality. 
• Performs all other duties as may be required and assigned.
