Qualifications

• 1 year of hosting experience required

Schedule

• Weekend availability required, on rotating basis
• Lunch shift availability preferred, on rotating basis
• Dinner shift availability required, on rotating basis (4pm - 8-9pm)

Host / Hostess Duties & Responsibilities

• Warmly greet all guests upon arrival
• Answer phones, manage reservations, and take/relay messages
• Input phone and online orders into POS system
• Process gift cards
• When immediate seating is limited, provide guests with an estimated waiting time
• Take note of where guests are waiting and seat them when tables become available
• Maintain a professional, courteous attitude when confronted with impatient guests
• Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible
• Relay guest notes to servers, kitchen and managers as needed
• Ensure the front of the restaurant (entrance hallway/doors) are clear of trash, swept and windows are clean.
• Clean menus of food and stains
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant, closing and opening as directed

Requirements

• 16 years or older
• Physically fit, able to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Availability work weekend evenings and public holidays
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Strong verbal communication skills

Job Performance and Pay

• Hourly pay
• Raises are frequently given to those who show exceptional job performance and improvement.

Hourly Wage: Hosts can expect to earn $15-$18/hour.
