Since 2014, the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Foundation (TRPLF) has worked to create a new kind of presidential library and museum. Now open in Medora, North Dakota, the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library (TRPL) brings Theodore Roosevelt’s ideas, values, and relentless spirit to life through immersive experiences that invite people to engage with his story—and consider how its lessons can shape their own lives and communities. More than a place to preserve history, the TRPL is a people’s library, celebrating the stories of all who “dare greatly, think boldly, care deeply, and live passionately.”
About the Role
The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is seeking energetic, adaptable, and hospitality-focused team members to support daily operations and create exceptional experiences for every guest who visits the Library. Hospitality Team Members provide flexible support across multiple guest-facing and operational areas, including the Café, Welcome Center, Museum Store, and light custodial support. No two shifts are exactly alike, making this an ideal opportunity for individuals who enjoy variety, working with people, learning new skills, and being part of a collaborative team. Shift opportunities are offered based on business needs and employee availability, with the greatest number of opportunities typically available during the peak visitor season from May through September.

Responsibilities
Café Operations
- Prepare and serve beverages and light food offerings.
- Operate point-of-sale systems accurately.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
- Keep café areas clean, stocked, and guest-ready.
Welcome & Guest Services
- Welcome visitors and provide exceptional customer service.
- Assist with admissions, guest information, and wayfinding.
- Answer questions and help guests navigate the Library.
- Create a positive first impression for every visitor.
Retail Operations
- Process retail transactions accurately.
- Assist guests with merchandise selections and purchases.
- Restock merchandise and maintain attractive displays.
- Support inventory organization and store presentation.
Facilities & Operational Support
- Help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming public spaces.
- Restock guest-facing supplies as needed.
- Perform light custodial duties throughout the facility.
- Assist with other operational needs as assigned.
Education & Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality, retail, food service, customer service, tourism, or guest services preferred.
- Experience working in fast-paced or guest-facing environments is a plus.
- Candidates who enjoy learning new skills and working across multiple operational areas are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to stand and remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Onsite work location in Medora, North Dakota.
- Must be at least 18 years old for Library roles.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
- Proper use of provided PPE in accordance with safety protocols, when applicable.
Additional Opportunities
Hospitality Team Members may have the opportunity to join the Foundation's Events Team after completing required training. Events Team shifts are offered separately based on event needs and employee availability and are compensated at the applicable Events Team hourly rate.
Benefits
Hourly pay: $20/hour.
