About the Honors College

As a Student Honors Associate, you'll work alongside your peers to create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community for all Honors students.

Position Descriptions:

Peer Mentor (Level II) - Currently Hiring
  Honors College Peer Mentors at Westminster University play a vital role in supporting first-year Honors College students through meaningful engagement, community-building, and ongoing mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Summer Outreach
• Orientation Leadership
• Ongoing Mentorship

Diversity Coordinator (Level II) - Not Accepting Applications
  Focus on promoting equity, diversity, and belonging through programming and initiatives.
 Key Responsibilities:

• Host identity-based dialogues and discussions.
• Create and implement resources to support historically excluded groups.
• Develop programs that highlight diverse perspectives and experiences.

First-Year Peer Mentoring Coordinator (Level II) - Not Accepting Applications
  Help incoming Honors students transition smoothly to college life by facilitating peer mentoring programs.
 Key Responsibilities:

• Recruit and train mentors for first-year students.
• Match mentor/mentee pairs and organize kickoff and reflection events.
• Provide support and resources to peer mentors and mentees.

Lateral Entry Peer Mentoring Coordinator (Level II) - Not Accepting Applications
  Coordinate outreach and create community for students entering the Honors College after their first year.
 Key Responsibilities:

• Organize meet-and-greet events and tailored communications.
• Maintain mentor-mentee relationships and provide continued support for lateral-entry students.

Nunemaker Events Coordinator (Level II) - Not Accepting Applications
  Plan and execute student-led programming in the Nunemaker Place to build community and engagement.
 Key Responsibilities:

• Organize fun and engaging events such as movie nights, discussion groups, and service projects.
• Collaborate with other Honors students to create memorable, community-building experiences.

Lead Student Honors Associate (Level III) - Not Accepting Applications
  Provide leadership and guidance to the Student Honors Associate team and assist with strategic planning and program evaluation.
 Key Responsibilities:

• Lead team meetings and help onboard new student associates.
• Assist with program evaluations and ensure smooth operation of Honors College activities.

Qualifications (Applies to All Roles):

• Must be a current Honors College student in good academic standing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
• A commitment to collaboration, leadership, and inclusion.
• Event planning or mentoring experience is a plus.

Position Details:

• Time Commitment: 5–8 hours per week (flexible with academic schedule).
• Compensation: Based on level (II or III) in accordance with campus student employment rates.
• Eligibility: Open to both work-study and non-work-study students.
• Flexible Schedule: Positions are designed to accommodate academic commitments and school breaks.
