Home Health Aide - Miami Hospice - PRN - Days

Join our team as a day shift, PRN, Home Health Aide, at INTEGRIS Health Baptist Miami Hospice, in Miami, OK.

The Home Health Aide provides patient care services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Pathologist in accordance with an established plan of care and per agency policies/procedures. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

Responsibilities

The Home Health Aide responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Calls patients and schedules visits in coordination with established plan of care, supervisor of care and the scheduling department.
• Performs patient care as directed by the care plan and patient tolerance level for that day.
• Provides a patient report to the supervising clinician assigned to the patient after each visit.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment by changing bed linens, cleaning the immediate area around the patient, patient's bathroom in relation to the patients personal care, light housekeeping, etc.
• Prepares progress notes for each visit and completes necessary paperwork assignments to document patient care activities as a part of the medical record The Home Health Aide reports to the Team Manager or Clinical Manager. 
• This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Please consult the Physical Demands Project SharePoint site or contact Risk Management/Employee Health for additional information. 
• Potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, chemicals. Must follow standard precautions.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE:

• 1 year of nursing experience or home health aide experience

 LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

• HHA (Home Health Aide)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association OR CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 60 days of hire

 Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written). This job requires the incumbents to operate a INTEGRIS-owned vehicle OR personal vehicle (non INTEGRIS-owned) and therefore must have a current Oklahoma State Drivers License as well as a driving record which is acceptable to our insurance carrier.
