Home Care Aide Job Description

Position Summary:
Provide compassionate, in-home support to disabled veteran's by assisting with daily living activities, personal care, companionship, and light household tasks while promoting client safety, dignity, and independence.

•  Help with mobility, transfers, walking, and fall prevention. 
•  Prepare meals and assist with feeding if needed. 
•  Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, and tidying. 
•  Provide companionship and emotional support. 
•  Remind clients to take medications 
•  Monitor and report changes in the client's physical or mental condition to supervisors or family members. 
•  Maintain accurate documentation of services provided. 
•  Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies. 
• Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
   

Qualifications:

•  High school diploma or GED preferred. 
•  CPR/First Aid certification preferred. 
•  Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license may be required. 
•  Strong communication, compassion, patience, and time management skills. 

Physical Requirements:

•  Ability to lift or transfer clients safely (up to 50 pounds, if required). 
•  Stand, walk, bend, and assist clients throughout the shift. 
•  Ability to perform household tasks and respond to client needs promptly.
