HISTOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST - PATHOLOGY - PT DAYS

Job Details: Job Location: Anderson Hospital - Maryville, IL, Position Type: Part Time (64 Hours), Salary Range: $25.88 - $45.57Hourly, Job Shift: Days, Job Category: Laboratory Services, Job Summary:       Takes responsibility for the histology department. Receives and processes surgical specimens. Prepares and stains micro section slides. Maintains instrumentation.  

Job Responsibilities:

Prepares specimens for processing.
Coordinates documentation and processing of cytology specimens.
Processes specimens.
Prepare micro section slides.
Performs special staining.
Maintains instrumentation.
Monitors histology department and maintains performance improvement records.
Represents department in a professional manner.
Receiving, logging, and labeling incoming tissue biopsies and surgical specimens.
Prepares specimens for send out testing.
Clerical work as needed.
Qualifications: Education Requirements and Other Requirements:

Education Level: 

Associate’s degree in Histology or equivalent.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

Certification/Licensure: HT(ASCP) preferred

Experience Requirements: Minimum one year histology laboratory experience preferred
