Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences (CSAS) is a K–12 Paideia school dedicated to fostering Character, Leadership, Academics, Seminar, and Service. Founded on the principles of the Paideia philosophy, CSAS emphasizes critical thinking, collaboration, and a love of learning through active student engagement and rigorous academic inquiry. Students at CSAS participate in Socratic seminars, hands-on learning experiences, and service opportunities that prepare them to lead and contribute meaningfully to their communities. As a magnet school within Hamilton County Schools, CSAS is committed to cultivating well-rounded, thoughtful citizens equipped to thrive in college, career, and life.  

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess effective instruction aligned to Tennessee state standards
• Design engaging lessons with clear objectives and measurable outcomes
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
• Collaborate regularly with colleagues and support staff
• Build strong, respectful relationships with students and families
• Create a well-managed, structured classroom environment
• Participate in ongoing professional development and reflection

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Valid Tennessee teaching license in 6-12 English OR current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program

Compensation & Additional Info:

• Salary Scale based on education and experience – starting at $50,000.00
• Eligible positions may qualify for additional pay under the Differentiated Compensation Plan
