GENERAL SUMMARY
This part-time temporary position requires student enrollment in an Information Technology related program. The position is responsible for providing customer service support to users requiring technical assistance. The Helpdesk Support Specialist assists users by phone and/or in person with the fundamental operation of software, hardware and other JAXPORT computer equipment. Troubleshoots routine problems with software, hardware, printers or other equipment and install, modifies and repairs equipment as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:
• Current enrollment in an Information Technology related program with an overall 2.75 GPA required.

Experience:
• Some experience in Information Technology or Help Desk related field preferred.

Knowledge:
• Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and operating systems required.

Skills Required:
• Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
• Team focused with strong commitment to customer service.
• Must be able to work independently when solving customer problems.

Travel: Minimal to none.

Other Requirements:
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) during employment.
• Position is a part-time temporary position and will be evaluated at the end of each semester to determine on-going business need for continuation.

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to frequently remain in a stationary position.
• Frequently move, traverse inside office or on JAXPORT property to accomplish job duties.
• Frequently operate, use or handle equipment, tools, computers and other office machinery.
• Rarely/Never ascend, descend, work atop, traverse on ladders, equipment and buildings to perform safety functions.
• Rarely/Never position self to move, to maintain or repair equipment on terminal or in office.
• Constantly detect, determine, identify, recognize, observe, inspect to read and use computers.
• Constantly detect, converse with, convey, exchange information with others via radio, telephone.
• Continuously move, transport and position material up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:
Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment or local travel for meetings or functions.
