Healthcare IT Workstream Project Manager

***As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen AND must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance ***

The Healthcare IT Workstream Project Manager manages an assigned workstream within the Indian Health Service (IHS) modernization program. This part of the program is migrating current patient data to a new Four Directions Warehouse environment to strengthen IHS access to accurate, timely, and usable patient information.

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and reporting on their assigned workstream. This includes managing scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, resources, stakeholders, subcontractors, and delivery readiness. The role works closely with IHS stakeholders, technical teams, clinical and functional leads, data owners, vendors, and program leadership to ensure the workstream delivers aligned, high-quality outcomes that support the broader warehouse migration.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Healthcare IT Workstream Project Manager: $90,000 – $100,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Healthcare IT Workstream Project Manager Responsibilities Include: 

• Manage an assigned workstream supporting migration of current patient data to the new Four Directions Warehouse for the IHS client.

• Develop and maintain the workstream plan, schedule, milestones, dependencies, assumptions, risks, issues, decisions, and change-control documentation.

• Coordinate workstream activities with program leadership and other technical, clinical, functional, data, integration, analytics, and site-deployment workstreams.

• Support data-migration activities within the assigned workstream, including requirements definition, source-data assessment, mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, testing, cutover, and post-deployment stabilization, as applicable.

• Coordinate with IHS stakeholders, clinical subject-matter experts, data owners, technical teams, subcontractors, and vendors to define priorities, resolve issues, and maintain delivery alignment.

• Track workstream readiness and manage cross-workstream dependencies that affect the migration, integration, availability, quality, or use of current patient data in the new Four Directions Warehouse.

• Establish and/or maintain workstream governance, including status reporting, RAID logs, decision logs, action-item tracking, and executive briefings.

• Support data-quality and acceptance activities to verify that current patient data is complete, accurate, secure, available, and fit for intended clinical and operational use.

• Facilitate workstream meetings, working sessions, readiness reviews, and stakeholder communications to drive timely decisions and accountability.

• Support user acceptance testing, operational readiness, deployment planning, and post-implementation issue resolution for the assigned workstream.

• Maintain program scope, schedule, and delivery commitments through disciplined risk, dependency, and change management.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Healthcare IT Workstream Project Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: 

Required Qualifications

• Active PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required and familiarity with both waterfall and agile delivery.

• Experience managing a workstream or major functional area within a large, complex healthcare IT implementation, data modernization, or data-migration program.

• Experience supporting patient-data, clinical-data, EHR, clinical data repository, data warehouse, data integration, or healthcare analytics initiatives.

• Demonstrated experience managing workstream schedules, milestones, RAID logs, dependencies, change control, stakeholder communications, and executive status reporting.

• Experience coordinating technical teams, clinical or functional stakeholders, data owners, vendors, and subcontractors in a multi-workstream environment.

• Strong ability to communicate technical delivery status, risks, dependencies, and decisions to business and executive stakeholders.

• U.S. citizenship, pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal and must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance through the Government.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting IHS, tribal health, federal healthcare, or other government health programs.

• Experience supporting patient-data migration, healthcare data warehouse implementation, clinical data repositories, data conversion, or data integration.

• Knowledge of healthcare data standards and technologies relevant to the assigned workstream, such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM, ETL/ELT processes, APIs, clinical data models, or data-quality tools.

• Experience with data validation, reconciliation, clinical/business acceptance, testing, deployment readiness, or cutover planning.

• Experience supporting imaging, radiology, CT/X-ray, DICOM, clinical analytics, or other specialized healthcare data domains.

• Experience supporting large EHR implementation, modernization, interoperability, or clinical systems integration programs.
