Job Description

Position Profile

We are seeking a Head Coach for the Women’s Varsity Soccer program.  The Head Coach will provide leadership for the program with an emphasis on “Christ-centered mentorship, player development, team culture, and competitive excellence”.

General Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the Women’s Varsity Soccer program.

  • Plan and conduct organized, high-quality training sessions focused on technical, tactical, physical, and team development.

  • Develop players at both the individual and team level.

  • Prepare the team for competition through training, game planning, and in-game coaching.

  • Build a positive team culture centered on faith, accountability, teamwork, effort, and sportsmanship.

  • Serve as a **Christian mentor and role model** for student-athletes, intentionally incorporating prayer, biblical principles, and spiritual development into the team experience.

  • Encourage student-athletes to grow in their relationship with Christ and demonstrate their faith through their actions, relationships, and competition.

  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, school administration, and athletic department staff.

  • Manage team rosters, schedules, equipment, and other program responsibilities.

  • Work collaboratively with the athletic department and school leadership to support the mission of Oakland Christian School.

Administration

  • Reports to the Athletic Director

  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to mentor and disciple student-athletes through athletics.

  • Alignment with the mission, values, and statement of faith of Oakland Christian School.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous soccer coaching experience, preferably at the high school or club level.

  • Strong knowledge of player development, training methodology, and the tactical aspects of the game.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop high school student athletes 

  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.

  • Commitment to building a competitive program while providing a positive, Christ-centered experience for student athletes.
