Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Responsibilities include: 

As a Cosmetologist, you are responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer and any and all services provided to guests as a licensed cosmetologist.  The Cosmetologist is also responsible for greeting customers, stocking hair products, maintaining a clean environment and assisting guests with their needs.

• Provides superior customer service, positively effects interactions with customers and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with guests in all types of business conditions and the ability to work harmoniously with coworkers.
• Analyzes hair to ascertain condition of hair.  Applies bleach, dye, or tint, using applicator or brush to color customer’s hair, first applying solution to portion of customer’s skin to determine if customer is allergic to solution.
• Shampoos hair and scalp with water, shampoo, dry powder, and rinses hair with prepared rinses.
• Massages scalp and gives other hair and scalp-conditioning treatments for hygienic or remedial purposes.
• Specializes in dressing hair according to latest style, period, or character portrayal, following instructions of customer.  Styles hair by blowing, cutting, trimming, and tapering, using clippers, scissors, razors, and blowing-wave gun.
• Suggests coiffure according to physical features of customer and current styles, or determines coiffure from instructions of customer.
• Sets hair by blow-dry or natural-set, or presses hair with straightening comb.
• Performs manicure and pedicure procedures on guests.
• Ensures that area is clean and stocked at all times.
• Assists other areas of the spa as needed. Provides maximum guest service to all guests, answer customer inquiries and tend to their requests.
• Keeps current on all certifications that are required to perform your job and stays informed with all of the latest techniques and types of hair services for this area.
• Facilitates retail sales, including customer assistance and follow up.

• This position works in an environment that is subject to varying levels noise and crowds, the severity of which depends upon customer volume.
• This position is required to work around Jacuzzis and steam rooms and is subjected to extreme heat and wet and/or humid conditions.
• This position is physical in nature and requires incumbent to bend, reach and have good finger dexterity in order to perform massages effectively. - Ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers alike.
• Ability to move effectively and efficiently through the spa.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds in order to move towels and clean up the work area.
• Ability to sustain a high level of confidentiality, professionalism and integrity
• Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with Team Members at all levels of the organization
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Colorado Cosmetologist License
• One (1) year experience as a licensed esthetician, cosmetician, beautician or related occupation
• Two years’ prior salon experience preferred.
• Effective verbal communication and customer service skills.
• These skills are typically acquired through the completion of a high school degree or equivalent, and licensed school of cosmetology, as well as through two years’ prior salon experience.
