Job Details: Job Location: Legal Address - NORTHAMPTON, MA, Salary Range: $16.00 - $17.50Hourly, The Hampshire Regional YMCA Youth Programs department is looking for a new staff member! Our YMCA serves all people regardless of age, income, or background, and this role is an opportunity to directly impact the lives of local youth. The Teen Engagement staff are responsible for monitoring our gymnasium and some fitness areas commonly frequented by teens & youth. Our facility is open until 9pm on weekdays and the teens we serve deserve engagement and guidance in order to best take advantage of our facility.
Job Duties:
Engage with youth & teens during pickup basketball, gymnasium games and other activities
Ensure that all youth are safe and following facility rules while in the building
Build relationships and rapport with regular youth members
Assist youth & teens using our Wellness fitness equipment which may include weightlifting and other activities
Participate in games and activities with teens as appropriate throughout shifts
Communicate with front desk staff and maintenance staff as needed throughout shift
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Experience working with youth & teens preferred
Able to walk through indoor facility for extended periods of time
Basketball & fitness experience a plus
