Grant Writer & Communication Specialist

Job Details: Job Location: Main Office (W2) - CLARKSTON, GA, Salary Range: Undisclosed, The Grant Writer & Communications Specialist combines strong grant-writing expertise with strategic communications and donor engagement skills. This role is responsible for researching, writing, and submitting compelling grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government funders, while also developing donor communications, impact reports, and marketing content that strengthens our organization's visibility and supporter relationships.
Qualifications: Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Research, identify, and pursue federal, state, local, corporate, and foundation funding opportunities.
Write, submit, and manage competitive grant proposals, renewals, amendments, and reports.
Coordinate with leadership and program teams to obtain data and supporting documentation.
Maintain the organizational grant calendar and ensure timely submissions.
Monitor grant compliance and funding outcomes.
Write newsletters, annual reports, press releases, donor communications, website content, sponsorship proposals, and campaign materials.
Assist with social media platform management and digital marketing initiatives.
Ensure brand consistency across all communications.
Support fundraising campaigns and special events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Five years of progressively responsible experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit communications.
Demonstrated success securing grant funding.
Experience with nonprofit human services or Head Start.
Experience with donor management software and federal grants.

Must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the assigned functions responsibly.
Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills.
Grant proposal development and project management.
Digital marketing and social media management.
Budgeting, analytics, and strategic planning.
Must possess the ability to work cooperatively as a team member. 
Must possess the ability to meet deadlines. 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:  None required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
