Golf Cart Attendant - Seasonal

Hours:  Various hours based on the needs of the facility
Starting Rate - $15.00  

JOB SUMMARY

Under supervision of clubhouse manager and/or assistants, performs a variety of tasks required to keep the golf cart fleet, pull carts, cart storage area, restrooms, and patio in a clean and working order. The cart attendant will act in a proper manner and be courteous to all groups in accordance with the procedures in the Fox Run Manual.  The cart attendant position requires the employee to be physically able to maneuver the cart ramp, operate a golf cart, assist with the staging and takedown of carts, and any other duties that are deemed relevant to the cart attendant position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Working knowledge of the golf operation while in a positive manner enforcing the golf course and park district policies.
• Responsible for upkeep of golf cart fleet including;  washing carts, garbage removal, organizing and staging of carts, maintaining gas levels, filling grass seed containers on carts, proper storage of carts at end of the night.
• Basement organized, swept and hosed down regularly
• Pull carts and pull cart area organized and cleaned
• Patio area maintained including, tables cleaned and wiped down, garbage and recycle bins emptied and cleaned, patio swept, spike cleaner and club washers cleaned.
• Assist with clubhouse maintenance including vacuuming, empty and clean garbage and recycle bins, wash glass on doors and windows, cleaning bathroom floors, sinks, mirrors, toilets and urinals.  
• CPR and First Aid certified – training conducted by the Elk Grove Park District.
• Always act in a professional and courteous manner when communicating with customers and staff.
• Apprise management of any situations that may become detrimental to golf operations.
• Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
• Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

• Any other area of responsibility when necessary as delegated by manager or assistants.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS

• Subject to both inside and outside environmental considerations
• Ability to navigate cart ramp
• Subject to sitting in golf cart for up to 7 hours a day
• Subject to modified/flexible work schedule
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of the game of golf
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Work in a team environment
• Ability to maintain positive and effective working relations with other employees
• Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Must be sixteen years of age
