GOALIE COACH/ASSISTANT FIELD HOCKEY COACH - JOB DESCRIPTION:

St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School is seeking a qualified Goalie Coach for the Saints Field Hockey program. St. Stephen's and St. Agnes provides a competitive athletic program that competes in the ISL (Independent School League) and VISAA (Virginia Independent School Athletic Association). We are looking for a coach who is passionate about developing student-athletes both on and off the field and who will help foster a culture of character, competitive excellence, leadership, sportsmanship, and goodness that lies at the core of Saints Athletics. All coaching positions are part-time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work collaboratively with the Head Field Hockey Coach to develop and implement a comprehensive goalie program aligned with the goals and philosophy of Saints Field Hockey.
• Provide instruction in goalie technique, game preparation, strategy, and overall skill development.
• Support the physical and mental development of goalies through age-appropriate training, building hand-eye coordination, recovery, and performance routines.
• Assist in the design and implementation of offseason and in-season footwork, conditioning, and development programs.
• Monitor goalie workloads and promote healthy habits that support long-term development and injury prevention.
• Prepare and lead goalie-specific practice activities while contributing to the overall team practice plan.
• Mentor student-athletes and foster a positive, challenging, and supportive team culture.
• Collaborate effectively with coaching staff, athletic trainers, strength and conditioning personnel, and families to support the student-athlete experience.
• Serve as a positive role model who reflects the mission and values of St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ideal candidates should have collegiate and/or high school playing experience and coaching experience at the club, high school, collegiate, and/or professional level. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of goalie skill development, position specific speed and & conditioning, and injury prevention, along with a commitment to mentoring student-athletes and contributing positively to a collaborative coaching environment.
