Global Lead, Partnerships and Networks

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Global Lead, Partnerships and Networks based in the United States.

This is a senior global leadership role focused on strengthening networks of activists, supporters, local groups, and strategic partners.
You will shape partnership and network strategies that directly support international campaigns and organizational priorities.
The role combines strategic leadership, people management, coalition-building, and hands-on campaign engagement across regions.
You will work closely with country and regional teams to expand partnerships beyond the traditional climate justice ecosystem.
You will lead a distributed team while fostering collaboration, learning, and shared approaches across diverse geographies.
The position offers the opportunity to influence global movement-building in a remote, international, and fast-paced environment.
Success will be measured through stronger networks, meaningful engagement, effective mobilization, and tangible campaign impact.

Accountabilities

• Develop and lead network strategies for partners, allies, local groups, and volunteers, adapting approaches to different contexts and aligning them with campaign priorities.

• Establish effective systems to track and evaluate network health, volunteer engagement, leadership development, and overall impact.

• Bring global and regional perspectives into mobilization planning and ensure networks are an effective mechanism for campaign delivery.

• Build and maintain strategic relationships across the climate movement and with external institutions, including frontline and Indigenous partners, donors, and senior stakeholders.

• Lead and develop a distributed team of two Regional Network Coordinators, providing clear direction, coaching, accountability, and support for high-quality collaboration.

• Manage relationships with existing and prospective affiliates, using strategic thinking and strong relationship-management skills to strengthen collaboration and engagement.

• Drive cross-regional collaboration and ensure that lessons, tactics, innovations, and political insights are shared effectively across teams and geographies.

• Ensure regional network activities remain aligned with global strategy, campaign priorities, organizational standards, and justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion principles.

• Develop mechanisms for sharing best practices, learnings, and innovations across networks and global teams.

• Strengthen communication channels between local groups, Network Coordinators, national organizers, and global teams.

• Oversee cross-country network mobilization initiatives, ensuring clear ownership, disciplined execution, and strong follow-through.

• Serve as budget holder for the Partnerships and Networks function, ensuring resources are managed effectively and strategically.

• Contribute to fundraising and donor engagement activities and represent the organization in relevant internal and external spaces.

• Support broader organizational priorities and contribute beyond core responsibilities when emerging needs require it.

Requirements

• 5+ years of senior-level experience in organizing, movement-building, or a related field, ideally within the climate sector.

• At least 3 years of direct people-management experience, including experience managing and coaching remote teams across diverse backgrounds.

• Substantial lived and professional experience in the Majority World / Global South.

• Demonstrated experience building, strengthening, and scaling grassroots or volunteer-led networks in the Majority World / Global South.

• Strong knowledge of the global climate movement and the ability to navigate complex relationships and sensitive issues where perspectives may differ.

• Proven ability to build coalitions and cultivate strategic partnerships with donors, external organizations, media, and other stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to design and implement organizing and campaigning strategies that produce measurable impact.

• Strong interpersonal, stakeholder-management, conflict-resolution, and influencing skills, with the ability to drive change through dialogue, learning, persuasion, and accountability.

• Experience applying justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion principles within organizing and campaigning environments.

• Working knowledge of digital organizing and experience using data and insights to inform strategy and decision-making.

• Excellent project-management, facilitation, written and verbal communication, and intercultural skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively within a distributed international team.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment where priorities can evolve.

• Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is strongly preferred.

• Experience working within large networks, social movements, coalitions, or with frontline and justice-focused partners across countries and regions is desirable but not required.

• A collaborative, responsive, and adaptable working style, with the confidence to lead initiatives while also taking direction and contributing as part of a wider team.
