Job DetailsJob Location: Denver, CO 80235Salary Range: $10,000.00 - $15,000.00 SalaryColorado Academy seeks candidates for the position of Girls Basketball Head of Program. The individual in this position will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the girls basketball program to include structural and administrative organization of the program. This position reports to the Director of Athletics.
Colorado Academy girls basketball program has a tradition of regular and postseason success and sends graduates to competitive college programs.
Responsibilities:
Adhere to mission of the school
Ensure all coaches adhere to the mission of the school
Must have significant knowledge of and proven success in coaching basketball at the varsity level
Oversee all levels and progression including Lower School, Middle School and Upper School student athletes and coaches
Work closely with the Director of Athletics to monitor and promote satisfactory academic progress and academic success
Work closely with the Director of Athletics, Assistant Athletic Director, Middle School Athletic Director, Lower School Athletic Director, Director of Sports Performance, Athletic Trainers, Mental Performance Coach and Uniforms Coordinator for all aspects of the program
Plans, strategizes and oversees all practices and scheduled contests to provide a positive and competitive experience for student athletes
Responsibilities include practice plans, game management, statistics management, and program coordination and communication with coaches, parents, student-athletes, faculty and staff
Responsible for maintaining film platform and managing player access (overseeing student managers to serve as point of contacts for game film)
Assist with managing the hiring, supervision and evaluation of all coaches, and assure requirements for each position are met
Confirm, attend, supervise, and administer home contests or arrange for proper supervision. (if applicable)
Assist with scheduling MS & US contests - including cancellations and rescheduling practices and contests (due to weather or other hazardous conditions)
Assist with assigning daily practice spaces for each team
Assist with upkeep of athletic facilities scheduled to be used for practices and games and communicate needs with our Operations department
Substitute coach for any level or provide coverage for absent coaches
Assist with weekly transportation needs, if needed, for all off-campus US contests
Assist with purchasing athletic equipment, uniforms, snacks, etc.
Assist with coordinating team photo schedules and submitting to the yearbook staff
Responsible for updating team rosters as needed
Responsible for updating Max Preps and CA Girls Basketball Team pages
Responsible for attending pre and postseason league meetings
Responsible for postseason league voting
Support professional development for coaches
Responsible for evaluating coaches and providing clear feedback
Resolve parental and student conflicts
Responsible for coordinating supervision for injured students
Responsible for coordinating return-to-play protocols with Athletic Training staff and coaches
Responsible for coordinating off season and in season training schedules with our Director of Sports Performance
Responsible for attending athletics and admissions events to promote the program
Responsible for evaluating student/family applications and discussing with Athletics administration
Responsible for communication with our College office as it relates to recruiting
Responsible for coordinating postseason banquet details with the athletic administration
Responsible for end of trimester reports cards for Varsity athletes and ensuring lower level coaches have completed report cards for their respective teams
Qualifications:
Must have highly advanced and effective interpersonal, motivational, and team leadership skills
Must be able to demonstrate creativity, sound judgment and decision-making, be an effective problem solver, and communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Must be recognized expert in team sport and coaching principles for student-athletes
Efficient in email management and managing emails in a timely manner
Motor vehicle record must meet standards
First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
Must be able to reach, bend and stoop frequently
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to make sudden changes in planned day or set – up without guidance
Ability to work under strict deadline and or stress/pressure
Strong attention to detail

The pay range for the position is $10,000-$15,000 for the official CHSAA season. Although $10,000-$15,000 is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any wage differential that may exist for the position does not relate to sex, gender or gender identity, but relates solely to a seniority system, a merit system, or relevant education, training and/or experience.
