Girls Basketball Coach – Paragon Prep

Paragon Prep has delivered a rigorous and nurturing environment to students PK-8th grade since 1997. About the Role

Paragon Prep is seeking a part-time Middle School Girls Basketball Coach to support its 5th/6th grade and 7th/8th grade girls basketball teams. This seasonal position will begin November 9, 2026, and continue through February 20, 2027, for approximately 8 to 10 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours.

The ideal candidate is a positive, team-oriented, and energetic coach who enjoys working with youth athletes and is committed to fostering skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and a rewarding student experience.

You will also:

• Plan and lead organized, age-appropriate practices that develop individual skills, team concepts, and game readiness.
• Coach student-athletes during practices, regular-season games, and the end-of-season tournament.
• Create a positive and inclusive team environment grounded in effort, accountability, respect, and sportsmanship.
• Provide clear instruction, constructive feedback, and encouragement appropriate for middle school athletes.
• Prioritize student safety and well-being while following school, facility, and athletic-program policies
• Communicate professionally with student-athletes, families, school leaders, and opposing teams
• Assist with game preparation, equipment organization, and other team-related responsibilities as needed.

Season and Schedule

• Season: November 9, 2026–February 20, 2027.
• Weekly commitment: Approximately 8 to 10 hours, with the possibility of additional hours.
• 7th/8th Grade Girls Team practices: Mondays from 4:00–5:30 p.m. and Tuesdays/Thursdays from 3:00–4:30 p.m.
• 5th/6th Grade Girls Team practices: Tuesdays/Thursdays from 4:00–5:30 p.m.
• Games: One to two games per week, typically beginning between 4:00 and 7:30 p.m. on weekdays.
• Weekend commitment: The end-of-season tournament on February 20, 2027.

What We’re Looking For

• Basketball playing and coaching experience required.
• Experience working with middle school athletes required.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, team concepts, and age-appropriate coaching practices.
• A positive, energetic, and team-oriented coaching style.
• Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Dependability and availability for the listed practices, games, and end-of-season tournament.
• Ability to work in person at the school campus and meet the physical demands of coaching basketball.
