About the Role

Fitness Connection is looking for a General Manager to lead one club location and deliver a high-impact, member-first experience. This role drives results across sales, operations, and team performance while building a culture where people feel welcome and challenged to grow.

You will partner with the Area Manager to develop talent, drive performance, and bring our mission to life - inspiring the people we serve to build healthier lives through value-rich experiences. This is a hands-on leadership role balancing performance expectations with people-first leadership.

Base Salary:

$60,000 - $75,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications

Performance Bonus:

Monthly bonus opportunity tied to club performance, including but not limited to:

Membership sales and revenue growth.

Member satisfaction.

Target bonus potential: $12,000 to $15,000 annually, with top performers having the potential to exceed targets.

Total Compensation (On-Target Earnings):

$72,000 to $90,000 or more

Drive Revenue & Performance

Build Winning Teams

Lead from the front by consistently achieving personal sales targets while modeling the confidence, follow-through, and member-first energy expected from every sales leader.
Lead overall club performance across sales, operations and member experience, ensuring the club consistently delivers value members can feel.
Own revenue, payroll, and performance metrics and take decisive action to improve results.
Identify gaps and implement solutions to increase sales and member satisfaction.

Develop strong, accountable leaders to deliver results and engagement.
Create an inclusive, high-energy culture where teammates take pride in delivering great service.
Communicate to drive alignment on clear goals and accountability.

Deliver Member-Engaging Club Experience

Set the Standard

Drive daily operations to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
Ensure consistent execution of standards and programs that elevate member experience and club performance.

Lead with integrity, consistency, and accountability.
Uphold company standards, make transparent decisions, and follow through on commitments to both members and teammates.

Schedule and Work Environment

This role requires a flexible schedule aligned to club needs, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Schedules are planned in advance where possible
Focus is on leadership presence during key business hours
Some clubs are open 24 hours - success comes from building a strong team.

Sales and Revenue Leadership

Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales or revenue targets in a fitness, retail, hospitality, or high-volume service environment.
Experience driving membership, service, or sales and improving conversion.
Demonstrated ability to coach and develop a team to improve sales performance.
Experience managing meaningful revenue targets, such as $125K or more per month.

Financial and Results Management

Experience managing individual and team sales targets, revenue, payroll/labor, and KPIs
Strong ability to analyze performance data, identify trends, and take action quickly
Accountability for delivering business results

People Leadership and Talent Development

Experience leading, hiring, and developing teams in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
Proven ability to coach and improve employee performance and build leadership capability.
Demonstrated ability to select, train, and coach high-performing sales professionals
Experience leading teams of 8 or more employees.

Business and Operational Excellence

Experience managing day-to-day operations in a high-volume environment
Ability to maintain facility standards and operational consistency
Experience overseeing scheduling, workflow, and operational consistency.

Communication, Problem Solving, and Influence

Strong communication and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to make decisions quickly, solve problems independently, and operate under pressure
Experience managing conflict, performance issues, and team alignment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
External hires: 12 or more months of club management experience with proven results.
Internal candidates: 6 or more months as a Sales or Operations Manager in good standing.
Knowledge of fitness industry and multi-function club operations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to learn new systems quickly.
Valid driver's license and background check required.
Occasional travel may be required.
