A Day in This Role
The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the primary phone contact for the center, handling a high volume of calls from parents, prospective families, vendors, and staff, while also supporting front desk and check in duties alongside the full time front desk team member. This is a key role for a center with heavy call traffic, and it requires someone who is calm under pressure, highly organized, and great at following through on every message.

As a Front Desk Receptionist, You Will:

• Answer high volume incoming calls and take clear, accurate messages 
• Route calls to the appropriate person (Director and executive team, or staff) based on the nature of the call 
• Communicate professionally with a range of callers, including prospective parents, current parents, vendors or contractors, and job applicants 
• Schedule and coordinate tours for prospective families over the phone 
• Keep the Director and executive team updated on call activity, especially time sensitive items like tour requests or parent concerns 
• Follow up to confirm that messages or requests have actually been received 
• Assist with front desk coverage as needed, including greeting parents and checking children in and out, alongside the full time front desk staff member 
• Receive and sign for packages and deliveries, and notify the appropriate staff member 
• Maintain the visitor sign in log and monitor front entrance access for security and compliance 
• Assist parents with paperwork drop off, such as enrollment or medical forms, and route billing or tuition questions to the appropriate person 
• Support light administrative and clerical tasks as time allows

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Have at least six months of proven prior experience in a high call volume front desk, reception, or customer service role
• Have strong phone etiquette and communication skills
• Can multitask and stay organized while managing multiple callers or requests at once
• Are comfortable working in a childcare or family facing environment
• Have basic computer skills (email, data entry)
• Can pass a background check per Texas HHSC Child Care Regulation requirements

Physical and Work Environment
Standard front office physical demands, with the ability to interact with children, families, staff, and outside callers in a licensed childcare setting.
