About the Role:Mt. Pleasant Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is looking for a friendly and organized Front Desk Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our practice in Thornwood, NY. Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients in a warm, professional manner upon arrival
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the front desk calendar
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and collect co-pays at time of service
- Maintain and update accurate patient records using electronic health record (EHR) software
- Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and communication between patients and clinical staff
- Manage patient intake forms and ensure all required documentation is complete
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a medical front desk, healthcare receptionist, or administrative role preferred
- Familiarity with medical insurance verification and billing processes
- Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems and general computer skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first attitude
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
