Fresh Meat Cutter | Part-time | Thurs - Saturday

Pay: $18.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience

Stoltzfus Meats is looking for a dependable and skilled Fresh Meat Cutter to join our team on a part-time basis.

This role is a great fit for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys working with fresh products, and wants to be part of a team that values consistency, food safety, and great customer service. The Fresh Meat Cutter helps prepare high-quality retail cuts, keeps the meat department stocked and organized, and supports the day-to-day needs of the department.

For the right person, there may be opportunities to grow into additional hours or a full-time position in the future based on performance, reliability, availability, and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, portion, and prepare fresh meat products according to Stoltzfus Meats standards
• Prepare steaks, roasts, chops, ground products, and other retail cuts as needed
• Grind meat and assist with preparation of value-added products
• Package, label, price, and stock fresh meat products for retail display
• Monitor product freshness, appearance, and quality throughout the shift
• Rotate products using proper FIFO practices to help maintain freshness and reduce waste
• Keep display cases clean, organized, attractive, and properly stocked
• Safely operate knives, band saws, grinders, and other meat-processing equipment
• Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, cutting surfaces, and work areas according to food safety standards
• Assist with cooler organization, inventory rotation, and product storage
• Support the Meat Manager with daily production priorities and department needs
• Provide friendly and helpful customer service when assisting customers at the counter
• Work collaboratively with other team members and departments as needed
• Follow all company food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and operational procedures

Qualifications

• Previous meat cutting, butcher, or meat-processing experience preferred
• Grocery store or retail meat department experience is a plus
• Familiarity with knives, band saws, grinders, and safe meat-cutting practices preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable, team-oriented, and willing to help where needed
• Ability to work in refrigerated and cooler environments
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age

Schedule & Growth Opportunity

This position is part-time. Additional hours may become available over time based on department needs, employee performance, reliability, and availability.

Employees who demonstrate strong performance and a commitment to the team may also be considered for future full-time opportunities as positions become available.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 75 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to perform repetitive cutting, trimming, packaging, and stocking tasks
• Ability to work in refrigerated environments
• Ability to safely operate knives, saws, grinders, and other meat-cutting equipment
