JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News is looking for a dedicated and experienced Freelance Field/Studio Technician to support a remote anchor studio based in the Washington DC area. In this role, you’ll help ensure smooth, reliable broadcasts by managing transmission and technical operations for programming originating from the studio. This position requires on-site availability two to three days per week, typically from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., with occasional early pre-tape shifts as needed. Candidates must be based in the Washington, D.C., area.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate transmission with NY tech managers, the satellite desk, and transmission teams

• Troubleshoot all technical issues on-site with field show teams and NY-based technical staff

• Set up and mic guests, including managing IFB needs

• Stage manage live broadcasts as needed

• Support the anchor and field producer as needed

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience

• Relevant technical broadcast experience

• Strong troubleshooting skills and a solid understanding of live transmission workflows

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

• A collaborative, team-first mindset

• Ability to maintain a calm, solutions-oriented approach in a fast-paced live-news environment

• Professionalism and discretion when working with high-profile talent

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $45.00-55.00 per hour.
