Founding Field & Events Marketer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Founding Field & Events Marketer based in the United States.

This is a high-ownership field marketing role focused on building a strong presence across industry events, conferences, and tradeshows in North America.
You will own the event lifecycle from researching opportunities and negotiating sponsorships to on-site execution and post-event performance analysis.
Working closely with sales, marketing, and product, you will turn event participation into qualified meetings, pipeline, and revenue.
The role combines hands-on logistics, strategic event selection, budget management, campaign execution, and performance measurement.
You will have significant visibility and autonomy, with the opportunity to establish scalable event programs and influence how the business engages its target market.
The ideal environment is fast-paced and entrepreneurial, with an emphasis on ownership, experimentation, operational excellence, and smart use of technology.
Regular travel will be an important part of the position, particularly during peak event seasons across North America.

Accountabilities

• Research, evaluate, prioritize, and recommend tradeshows, conferences, and industry events aligned with target audiences and revenue objectives, while maintaining a rolling 12-month event calendar.

• Manage event organizers, vendors, venues, and partners, negotiating sponsorships, booth space, speaking opportunities, packages, and other event-related services.

• Own event execution from planning through completion, including booth design, shipping, promotional materials, swag, lead capture, badge scanning, audiovisual requirements, catering, accommodations, and team travel.

• Serve as the primary on-site event contact, coordinating setup and teardown, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a polished and professional presence throughout each event.

• Prepare internal teams for events by communicating objectives, target accounts, messaging, schedules, responsibilities, logistics, and meeting priorities.

• Partner with sales to generate pre-event meetings, coordinate customer dinners and other on-site activities, capture and qualify leads, and accelerate follow-up after events.

• Coordinate pre- and post-event marketing campaigns, including email outreach, landing pages, paid promotion, social campaigns, and other tactics designed to increase engagement.

• Manage the event budget across the full calendar, tracking expenditures, forecasting costs, identifying risks, and making informed trade-offs to maximize return on investment.

• Establish event-level KPIs covering leads, meetings, pipeline, revenue contribution, and ROI, and produce clear post-event reporting with actionable recommendations.

• Identify opportunities to use AI, automation, and technology to improve event research, vendor communications, lead enrichment, reporting, content creation, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• 1–4 years of experience in event marketing, field marketing, event coordination, or a related discipline, ideally within B2B technology or another fast-moving commercial environment.

• Demonstrated experience organizing events from planning through execution, with the ability to explain outcomes and business impact.

• Experience managing event budgets, forecasting spend, tracking costs, negotiating with vendors, and making decisions based on ROI.

• Ability to define meaningful event KPIs and connect event activity to meetings, pipeline, revenue, and broader business objectives.

• Demonstrated hands-on use of AI tools or AI-enabled workflows to automate, improve, or accelerate marketing and event-related work; this is a core requirement.

• Familiarity with HubSpot or comparable CRM platforms and comfort using data to track and evaluate opportunities.

• Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate timelines, budgets, vendors, logistics, and multiple stakeholders without losing attention to detail.

• Strong negotiation and vendor-management capabilities.

• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with confidence engaging executives, internal teams, vendors, and prospects.

• Calm, adaptable, and resourceful under pressure, with the ability to troubleshoot event challenges in real time.

• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30–50% during peak event seasons across North America, with potential international travel as the program expands.

• Must be based in the United States and live within approximately one hour of a major airport hub with strong direct connectivity to common event destinations.

• Legally authorized to work in the country of residence; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

• Experience with event platforms such as Cvent, Splash, Bizzabo, or Goldcast is a plus.

• International event or vendor-management experience and a background in B2B SaaS or a comparable technology environment are also advantageous.
