Our client is a well-funded, seed-stage healthcare technology startup building AI-powered infrastructure to modernize how healthcare organizations coordinate care and administer benefits for some of the country's most vulnerable patient populations.

They're tackling an incredibly complex operational challenge at the intersection of healthcare, data, and AI—replacing fragmented workflows with intelligent software that helps ensure patients receive the services they're entitled to while reducing administrative burden for care teams.

The founding team combines deep healthcare domain expertise with experience building and scaling technology companies. They're thoughtful builders, customer-obsessed, and intentionally creating a culture centered around ownership, collaboration, and craftsmanship.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Founding Software Engineer who wants to help build far more than a product.

You'll work directly alongside the founders to define the technical foundation, influence product direction, establish engineering culture, and help shape the future of the company.

This is the type of role where your fingerprints will be on nearly every major technical decision.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and ship customer-facing product features end-to-end.

• Own architecture across backend systems, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure.

• Build event-driven systems and scalable data pipelines.

• Develop AI-powered workflows leveraging modern LLM technologies.

• Design reliable, secure systems capable of handling sensitive healthcare data.

• Collaborate closely with the founders on product strategy and technical direction.

• Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and development workflows.

• Help recruit and shape the future engineering team.

We're Looking For Someone Who...

• Has 7+ years building production software.

• Has strong backend engineering and data systems experience.

• Has built cloud-native systems in AWS.

• Enjoys shipping products—not just infrastructure.

• Is comfortable working across the full stack when needed.

• Already incorporates AI tools into their daily development workflow.

• Has experience working with healthcare systems or other highly regulated environments.

• Thrives in ambiguity and enjoys building from zero to one.
