The Role

We’re looking for a Founding Business Development Representative to help build Coperniq’s outbound sales motion.

Your primary responsibility will be creating qualified sales pipeline through outbound prospecting. You’ll work directly with the founders and sales team to identify the right accounts, reach decision-makers, understand their business problems, and create opportunities for Coperniq.

This role is also designed as a path into an Account Executive position.

We expect strong performers to spend approximately 2–6 months developing deep knowledge of our customers, market, product, and sales process before beginning to own deals themselves.

The transition to Account Executive will be based on performance and readiness, not tenure alone.

What You’ll Do

• Prospect target accounts through phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels.

• Identify owners, executives, and other key decision-makers.

• Create and qualify new sales opportunities.

• Book and attend qualified sales meetings.

• Understand customer pain, priorities, timing, and buying intent.

• Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity data, and next steps.

• Follow up consistently with prospects throughout the sales process.

• Work with the founders and sales team to improve targeting, messaging, sequences, and outbound strategy.

• Test new approaches and help build the outbound playbook for future BDRs.

At full ramp, the target for this role is approximately $350,000 in Sales Accepted Pipeline per month.

Path to Account Executive

Our goal is not for you to remain a BDR indefinitely.

As you demonstrate consistent pipeline performance and develop strong product and sales knowledge, you’ll begin taking on more responsibility in the sales cycle.

This can include:

• Running discovery calls.

• Delivering product demos.

• Building proposals and business cases.

• Managing multiple stakeholders.

• Handling objections.

• Negotiating commercial terms.

• Owning opportunities from first conversation through close.

Once you’re ready to consistently own the full sales process, the expectation is that you’ll transition into an Account Executive role with a new closing quota and compensation plan.

Previous experience in BDR/SDR roles, SaaS, roofing, construction, or field services is helpful but not required.
