Foreign Language Interpreter (Pool Posting, Location To Be Determined)

JOB SUMMARY: Provide accurate and timely communication (interpretation and translation) with non-English speaking families as needed. Remain on the interpreter list for as needed interpretation, as coordinated by the Language Supports and Services team.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired.

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma or higher
• One (1) year of professional work experience preferred
• Bilingual in English and foreign language as determined by required district assessment, applicant is responsible for the assessment fee
• Advanced knowledge of educational terms, phrases, and acronyms in English and foreign language
•  Intermediate knowledge of inter-cultural communication including sociology-linguistic diversity and variance
• Skilled in interpersonal relations
• Ability to work with others in a team setting
• Operating knowledge of and experience with word processing and interpreting system 
• Knowledge of translation software and features for Microsoft Word is required within six months after hire
