Food Service Worker

Position Summary  

The food service worker supports daily food production operations in a school kitchen that serves studentsThe position is responsible for preparing ingredients, assembling food items, serving students meals, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.The ideal candidate is reliable, energetic, and able to work efficiently as part of a team to meet daily production goals.  
This part-time position follows the Woodridge SD 68 school calendar and starts in August.  Monday- Friday 8am-1pm. No Nights, weekends, or holidays.

Essential duties and responsibilitiesPrepare fruits, vegetables, and other menu items according to standardized recipes and meal schedulesWash, cut, portion, cook, and package food products for distribution Assist with meal assembly and service to ensure accuracy and quality standards are metLabel, date, and store food products following food safety guidelinesOperate kitchen equipment including ovens, steam tables, and knivesMaintain clean and organized workstations throughout the shift.Follow HAACP procedures and document food temperatures as requiredAssist with receiving deliveries and stocking inventory using FIFO proceduresSupport cooks with food preparation and other duties as assignedWork efficiently to meet production deadlines Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal food safety and sanitation guidelines
QualificationsPrevious food service, restaurant, cafeteria experience preferred but not requiredAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentReliable attendance and punctuality requiredServe Safe Certified or the ability to obtain certification upon hire 
Must pass federal background check  
Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English

Physical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periods of timeAbility to lift, push, pull,  and carry up to 25 lbs.Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand movementsAbility to work in loud, fast paced kitchen environment.
