Responsibilities

• Follow safe food handling, preparation, and storage techniques that comply with state and federal laws and regulations.

• Follow recipes and prepares foods that correspond to menu cycles prepared by Dietician.

• Continuously cleans food service work areas as food prep and service is done, including but not limited to dishes, utensils and serving equipment 

• Uses food supplies and equipment in a safe and efficient manner

• Prepares and maintains supply of food substitutes to accommodate resident choices, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences

• Handles, stores and disposes of food supplies and prepared food in accordance with department procedure and with sate and federal regulations

• Commitment to caring for patients and partners

• Proactive, collaborative team member in a long-term care environment

• Respect and professionalism towards your colleagues in the workplace at all times

• Other duties as required

• Sufficient education to demonstrate functional literacy

• One (1) year institutional food service experience as a cook.

  Qualifications that would be nice to have, but not required to apply:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous dietary or food service experience
