Job Summary

As a Food Runner, you will quickly and accurately deliver orders from the kitchen, ensuring dishes meet guest specifications while assisting with ticket organization and dietary needs. You will maintain a seamless service flow by clearing, sanitizing, and resetting tables efficiently while keeping service stations fully stocked.

Work Experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests’ tables quickly and accurately.
• Ensure proper table setups (cutlery, napkins) before the food arrives.
• Assist the kitchen expediter by organizing tickets and verifying that dishes match guest specifications and dietary restrictions.
• Communicate guest requests (e.g., drink refills, extra condiments) to the appropriate server.
• Clear tables promptly after guests leave, sorting dishware, glassware, and silverware for the dish station.
• Sanitize and reset tables efficiently to minimize wait times for incoming guests.
• Maintain the overall cleanliness of the dining room floor, including sweeping up spills and clearing away debris.
• Restock service stations with napkins, silverware, and glassware throughout the shift.
• Provide a warm, friendly greeting to guests when approaching their tables.
• Answer basic menu questions and accommodate impromptu guest requests.
• Work collaboratively with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth, efficient service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a food runner, busser, or similar hospitality role is a plus, but a great attitude and willingness to learn are most important.
• Ability to carry heavy food trays and stand/walk for extended shifts.
•  Strong verbal communication to relay information between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
• Capacity to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
