Flooring Business Leader

Position Summary

The Flooring Business Leader will be responsible for leading and growing the company’s flooring business, with full accountability for sales growth, profitability, customer development, and market strategy. This role will report directly to the VP of Sales and will serve as the commercial lead for floor covering applications where our needlepunch technology can deliver value.

This is a remote position requiring regular travel to customers, prospects, industry events, and internal meetings. Most customer activity is expected to be concentrated in the Southeast.

Key Responsibilities

• Own sales and profit performance for the flooring business.

• Develop and execute a growth strategy for floor covering markets and related applications.

• Identify, pursue, and win new business opportunities with flooring manufacturers, converters, distributors, and other relevant channel partners.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, decision-makers, technical teams, and purchasing organizations.

• Apply strong knowledge of the flooring industry to uncover new opportunities for needlepunch technology.

• Translate customer needs into product, technical, and commercial requirements.

• Work closely with operations, product development, technical, customer service, and leadership teams to support customer programs from concept through commercialization.

• Monitor market trends, competitive activity, pricing dynamics, customer needs, and emerging applications in the floor covering market.

• Manage pricing, margin, forecasting, pipeline development, and account planning for the flooring business.

• Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and technical discussions.

• Provide regular updates to leadership on sales performance, pipeline progress, market conditions, and strategic priorities.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience in the flooring, floor covering, nonwovens, textiles, or related materials industry.

• Demonstrated ability to grow sales and manage profitable business development.

• Solid understanding of needlepunch technology and how it can be applied in floor covering markets.

• Proven success developing customer relationships and managing strategic accounts.

• Commercially driven, with strong business judgment and financial discipline.

• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while staying closely connected to internal teams.

• Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

• Willingness to travel regularly, especially throughout the Southeast.

Preferred Qualifications

• Existing relationships within the flooring or floor covering industry.

• Experience selling technical materials, engineered fabrics, nonwovens, backing materials, underlayment, carpet components, or similar products.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams on product development or customer-specific applications.

• Familiarity with manufacturing environments and technical sales processes.

Work Location and Travel

This is a remote position. The role will require regular travel to customer locations, with a primary focus on customers in the Southeast, along with occasional travel to company facilities, industry events, and internal business meetings.
