Fleet Coordinator/Maintenance Worker

Job Details: Job Location: Cortland - Highland Park, MI, Salary Range: $25.00 - $27.00, Job Category: Facilities, Scope:   Responsible for coordinating fleet operations for 40+ agency vehicles, including maintenance, mileage, fuel tracking, compliance, invoicing, and vehicle usage, while also performing general building and grounds maintenance, repairs. Additionally, assist with construction projects and related activities as needed.

Essential Vehicle Related Functions

Ensure all agency, program, fleet and maintenance service related safety protocols are upheld in the performance of duties.
Coordinate fleet maintenance work, including scheduling additional services as needed.  
Monitor and maintain agency fleet vehicle user data (speed, GPS tracking, vehicle locations and vehicle assignees).
Coordinate agency vehicle routine and preventative maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, inspections, registrations, etc.) and repair.
Input fuel receipts and assigned purchase requisitions into the accounting system.
Track and ensure compliance with licensing, registration, and insurance requirements for all vehicles.
Maintain accurate records of fleet activity including maintenance logs, fuel usage, mileage, and incident reports. 
Assist in evaluating fleet efficiency and recommend improvements, replacements, or cost-saving measures.

Essential Maintenance Worker Related Functions

Maintain agency facilities as part of maintenance team.
Complete assigned maintenance work orders, including routine and preventative interior/exterior building maintenance (install and/or repair electrical wiring, control circuits, electrical devices, piping and plumbing fixtures, replace broken windows, doors, door locks, closets, etc.)

Monitor independent contractors performing services, ensuring quality control and compliance with specifications.
Work collaboratively with team
Maintain a positive attitude towards, team, assigned work, clients, and staff, and a willingness to work with others.
Perform work in a professional manner that upholds Wayne Metro’s policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work is performed inside and/or outside an office. The employee is frequently required to climb, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk. Work exposed to a variety of weather conditions and outdoor elements. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree OR a minimum of six years of experience in a related field OR a combination of education and experience that is similarly equivalent.                                             

Minimum Competencies:

Working knowledge of internet applications and programs including Google technology and Microsoft Office Word and Excel. The ability to learn and utilize the necessary programs for this position including Fleetio, Marathon’s WEX, Azuga GPS, Ford Pro Dashboard, etc.
Knowledge of local repair shops, dealerships, parts suppliers, etc .
Ability to effectively provide directions to repair shops, dealerships, and contractors.
Ability to maintain documentation of work including file maintenance and report development.
Must have experience with plumbing, electrical and appliance repair.
 Must have experience using power tools.
Knowledge of repairs to windshield, tire, accident damage.
Ability to provide general diagnosis of issues as described by staff.
Good interpersonal and professional skills including but not limited to professional appearance, tact, punctuality and dependability.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment (as deemed necessary).
Perform work in a manner that upholds Wayne Metro policies and procedures.

Licensing and Other Requirements:

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Travel Requirements:

Ability to travel to various sites.

Work Hours:  Work to be scheduled Monday through Friday with specific hours to be determined by program needs.
