Financial Strategy Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Financial Strategy Analyst based in United States.

This is a senior individual contributor role within a Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team.
You will take end-to-end ownership of enterprise operating expense planning, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
The role combines deep financial analysis with process ownership, business partnership, and continuous improvement.
You will develop strong expertise in operating expense drivers, allocation methodologies, enterprise financials, data models, and complex consolidations.
As a trusted resource for peers and stakeholders, you will help strengthen analytical quality, financial discipline, and reporting processes.
The role also provides opportunities to lead complex initiatives, influence without direct authority, and bring structure to ambiguous situations.
Your work will help create greater capacity for strategic analysis, stronger business partnership, and the continued evolution of FP&A processes.

Accountabilities:

• Lead core FP&A processes and monthly financial analysis, ensuring the integrity of financial results by validating assumptions, reconciling outputs, identifying anomalies, and applying sound accounting and finance principles.
• Own annual operating expense planning and forecasting activities, including allocation methodologies, trend analysis, and detailed analysis of underlying financial drivers.
• Develop and maintain deep expertise in enterprise financials, operating expense drivers, foundational data models, allocation methodologies, and complex financial consolidations.
• Lead complex financial initiatives from concept through execution, creating structure in ambiguous situations, coordinating multiple workstreams, and ensuring key deliverables and milestones remain on track.
• Influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority by communicating clearly, maintaining momentum, and building alignment around financial priorities and decisions.
• Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, consistency, analytical quality, and reporting reliability across core FP&A activities.
• Prepare clear executive-level financial analyses, presentations, and recommendations that support informed business decisions.
• Act as a trusted resource for peers and stakeholders, helping elevate analytical standards and strengthen process discipline across the team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, FP&A, financial reporting, accounting, or related financial analysis functions.
• Strong financial and accounting knowledge, with the ability to independently evaluate financial results, challenge assumptions, identify issues, and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Experience leading complex financial processes and managing multiple workstreams while maintaining momentum and communicating progress effectively.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to develop concise executive-level analyses, presentations, and recommendations.
• Financial services or insurance industry experience, particularly in enterprise-level FP&A and operating expense management, is preferred.
• CPA or CFA certification is a plus, as is experience using or implementing Workday, Power BI, Tableau, Adaptive Planning, Hyperion, or similar financial planning and reporting platforms.
• Ability to work effectively within Pacific, Mountain, or Central Time Zones is preferred.
• Demonstrated ownership and initiative, with a proactive approach to identifying solutions, following through on commitments, and improving processes.
• Strong curiosity and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to understand how work connects across teams, systems, and processes and to explore the underlying reasons behind financial outcomes.
• Collaborative mindset, humility, and willingness to contribute to the collective growth and success of the team.
