The Mason District of Modern Woodmen is actively seeking a Financial Representative to help spearhead the continued growth of the region. This opportunity is ideal for someone who currently holds the appropriate state licensing, or is willing to obtain it quickly and is motivated to make a meaningful impact on clients and the local community. If you have a strong desire to lead, develop others, and play a key role in building a growing team, this could be an excellent opportunity worth exploring.

Tobin Mason is a Managing Partner who joined Modern Woodmen in 2007. Prior to that, he was an business leader, owning and operating several small businesses. Outside of work, Tobin enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling with his family, and coaching Little League baseball. His passion for people and community shines through both in and out of the office.
Lynn Walstad has been a Financial Advisor with Modern Woodmen since 2008, starting his career at age 30. Before joining MWA, he worked in commercial window construction, traveling across a four-state area and spending most of his days outdoors. A proud father of five, Lynn stays busy with his children’s activities and helps run a family pheasant hunting business in the fall.
Adam Gress became a Financial Advisor with Modern Woodmen in 2024 at the age of 41. He came from a background in education as a middle school teacher and high school athletic coach, driven by a passion for serving others. Adam was drawn to MWA’s fraternal mission and its impact on communities. Outside the office, he runs a wrestling academy in Northwest Iowa and stays active with his three kids through sports, club activities, and church involvement.
Sarah May has been a Financial Advisor with Modern Woodmen since 2006, starting at the age of 28. She was drawn to the organization for its flexibility, which allowed her to thrive as a single mom while building a rewarding career. Today, Sarah continues to value MWA for its income potential, benefits, and the family atmosphere it fosters. She’s passionate about her grandchildren, gardening, reading, volunteering at schools, and caring for her pets.

The Role of Financial Representative: As a Financial Representative at Modern Woodmen, you play a pivotal role in addressing members’ financial needs, demonstrating leadership in the community, and supporting the continued growth of the local office. Over time, the role can expand to include recruiting, training, and developing other financial representatives, contributing to the overall success of the team.
Perks/Benefits:
- This position is compensated through commissions and performance-based incentives. Based on historical results, representatives may earn approximately $97,000–$192,000 annually; actual earnings vary and are not guaranteed.

Qualifications:
- Someone who is Team Spirited, Enthusiastic and possesses a great Attitude when facing challenges
- Possessing a competitive nature
- Genuine and authentic, with a willingness and drive to do what it takes to contribute and achieve the goal at hand
Required Financial Licenses:
- SIE Certification or Willingness to Quickly Obtain
- Life/Health License or Willingness to Quickly Obtain
