Finance Assistant (Part-Time)
Global Kids’ (GK) mission is to educate, inspire, and mobilize youth to become global citizens who are positively engaged in the world and are prepared for their future. Over its 36-year history, the organization has engaged thousands of young people in its’ innovative youth development programs that promote global awareness and action; building their agency to affect change in their community and beyond.
Global Kids, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented, organized Finance Assistant to support the Accounts Payable function within the Finance Department. This part-time position is responsible for processing invoices, maintaining vendor records, ensuring proper approvals are obtained, and supporting accurate and timely payment processing. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position is ideal for an individual seeking to gain practical experience in accounting and nonprofit finance.
Responsibilities
• Review invoices and expense documentation for accuracy, completeness, and required approvals.
• Verify account coding and supporting documentation before processing.
• Enter vendor invoices into Ramp Bill Pay.
• Record and apply payments in Sage Intacct.
• Maintain organized vendor files and accounts payable records.
• Assist with vendor statement reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items.
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices and payment status.
• Assist with maintaining monthly accounts payable files and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Perform administrative and finance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Currently pursuing or enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Prior office, administrative, data entry, or bookkeeping experience is preferred.
• Experience with accounts payable is a plus.
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Sage Intacct and/or Ramp is a plus.
Schedule
• Part-time position: approximately 20-25 hours per week.
• Flexible schedule during standard business hours.
Compensation and Benefits:
This part-time nonexempt position pays $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. GK also offers paid vacation days, one personal day, and sick days. GK staff also have access to retail discounts and other benefits through our Professional Employer Organization (PEO).
