The Field Service Technician will travel to customer sites across the U.S. to install, commission, maintain, and repair SCADA equipment and related systems. They are also responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, training customers, and documenting service activities.

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. This hands-on position is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining Sligo Systems' Visual Compliance Monitoring System (VCMS™) and related equipment at customer facilities across the United States. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, mechanically and electrically inclined, and enjoys traveling to solve technical challenges while providing exceptional service.
Responsibilities
Travel to customer sites throughout the U.S. to perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of SCADA equipment and related systems
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, networking, and control system issues both onsite and remotely
Install, configure, and test, sensors, communication equipment, control panels, and associated hardware
Perform preventative maintenance inspections and system performance evaluations
Train customers on proper operation and basic maintenance of installed systems
Document service activities, repairs, and recommendations through detailed service reports
Coordinate with internal technical support and engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues
Maintain company tools, equipment, and service vehicle in a clean and organized condition
Follow all customer site safety requirements and company safety procedures
Assist with system testing, equipment preparation, and technical support at the office when not traveling
Provide professional, courteous customer service while representing Sligo Systems in the field
Participate in an on-call rotation to support customers as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree or technical training in electrical, electronics, industrial maintenance, instrumentation, or related field preferred)
Minimum 2 years of experience in field service, industrial maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, controls, instrumentation, or related technical field
Working knowledge of electrical systems, low-voltage and high-voltage wiring, and basic networking concepts
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Ability to read electrical diagrams and technical documentation
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage travel schedules
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely on ladders and around industrial equipment
Willingness to travel frequently throughout the United States, including overnight travel
Work Environment:
Work is performed at customer facilities, including landfills and other industrial environments, as well as in the office when not traveling
Frequent travel by vehicle and air, including overnight stays
Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and around heavy equipment
Position may require climbing ladders, walking uneven terrain, and standing for extended periods
Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required when working onsite
Sligo Systems is a full-service systems integrator providing engineering services and fabrication of custom industrial automation and process systems for a wide range of applications in Municipal Solid Waste, Oil & Gas, and Water & Wastewater markets. Project implementation involves a variety of equipment manufacturers, software packages, process and network architectures, and includes HMIs, PLCs and associated components from all major OEMs.

Our advancements in the design of these rugged and durable pimps allows for true solids handling and run dry capabilities, coupled with our intuitive micro controller based control panels, provide simplicity and reliability. Our control panels are infinitely field-upgradeable, often requiring no additional hardware to be installed. This gives management and operators unsurpassed flexibility in system operation and future expansion/upgrades.
Sligo Systems offers monitoring and control systems that give landfill operator’s access to their critical processes from anywhere they have a live internet connection. Or, if manpower is an issue, Sligo offers services to monitor and collate daily information on leachate and gas condensate systems on the customer’s behalf. This allows the customer, or Sligo Technician, to identify trends which could lead to manual intervention prior to a failure in return reducing downtime and maintenance costs. This proactive approach provides the user with the ability to manage these electromechanical systems methodically rather than by reaction. This system also streamlines the collection and dissemination of mandatory data to the regulatory authorities.
