About the Role

Our SteadyState Foundations™ program is delivered within the ForestRx™ training environment, where participants actively develop Professional Continuity through Progressive Continuity Conditioning™ in a structured environment with live variability.

We're hiring Field Operations Safety Leads to support SteadyState Foundations™ engagements for a variety of clients, including professionals, executives, founders, physicians, attorneys, engineers, elite performers, and other high-accountability populations.

While the Professional Continuity Facilitator is responsible for participant development, the Field Operations Safety Lead is responsible for maintaining environmental awareness, participant safety, and operational stability throughout the engagement.

This is not a guiding role.

It is not recreation.

It is not participant instruction.

It is a field operations safety role within a professional capability development system.

Assignment Model

This is an engagement-based W-2 position.

Field Operations Safety Leads are matched to client engagements based on:

• Engagement type

• Operational needs

• Environmental demands

• Scheduling availability

• Travel requirements

Typical assignment range:

• One to two simultaneous cohorts of five (5) participants each

• Approximately 8–20 hours per week depending on engagement type

Travel within Central Texas is common. Regional, national, and occasional international travel may be available depending on assignment needs.

Core Function

Protect the environmental and operational conditions that allow Professional Continuity to be developed safely and effectively.

What You'll Do

Environmental Hazard Assessment & Control

• Conduct pre-engagement environmental assessments before participant arrival.

• Continuously evaluate terrain, weather, trail conditions, and environmental changes throughout the engagement.

• Identify and monitor potential hazards including:

  • Poison ivy, poison oak, and other irritant vegetation

  • Wasps, bees, fire ants, ticks, spiders, and other insects

  • Unstable terrain, erosion, loose rock, exposed roots, and trip hazards

  • Flash flood potential, lightning, excessive heat, and other weather-related risks

• Modify positioning, pacing, or route when environmental conditions require operational adjustments.

• Maintain awareness of changing conditions without disrupting the participant experience.

Wildlife Awareness & Environmental Response

• Maintain continuous awareness of wildlife activity.

• Assess wildlife encounters and determine the appropriate response.

• Safely redirect participants around environmental hazards.

• Respond calmly and decisively when encounters with snakes, insects, or other wildlife occur.

• Protect participants while preserving a calm and controlled environment.

Participant Safety Oversight

• Maintain visual accountability for participants throughout the engagement.

• Monitor hydration, heat exposure, fatigue, mobility, and physical well-being.

• Recognize early indicators of environmental or physical risk before they become emergencies.

• Carry, inspect, and maintain field safety equipment.

• Initiate or support emergency response procedures when required.

Operational Support

• Preserve engagement flow by minimizing unnecessary interruptions.

• Maintain awareness of environmental distractions and operational risks.

• Communicate emerging concerns to the Professional Continuity Facilitator.

• Complete post-engagement environmental observations and operational documentation.

• Contribute to the ongoing refinement of field safety procedures and operational protocols.

• Serve as a wilderness guide

• Provide executive protection

• Deliver athletic training

What We're Seeking

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated comfort operating in wooded and trail-based environments

• Ability to confidently identify common Central Texas environmental hazards

• Strong situational awareness and observational skills

• Ability to make sound decisions independently in changing outdoor conditions

• Ability to remain calm during wildlife encounters and environmental emergencies

• Ability to maintain confidentiality in high-trust environments

• Willingness to travel

• Current CPR certification

• Current First Aid certification (or ability to obtain before first assignment)

Preferred Backgrounds

Experience in one or more of the following:

• Wilderness First Aid (WFA)

• Wilderness First Responder (WFR)

• Search and Rescue

• Emergency Medical Services

• Military field operations

• Wildland fire operations

• Park operations

• Outdoor education

• Expedition leadership or support

• Incident management

• Field logistics

Physical Requirements

• Ability to hike 4–8 miles on uneven terrain while carrying field equipment

• Ability to safely navigate uneven terrain and elevation changes

• Ability to work safely in heat, humidity, rain, and other changing weather conditions

Ideal Candidate

The ideal Field Operations Safety Lead is:

• Comfortable spending long periods in natural environments.

• Unfazed by snakes, insects, changing weather, or difficult terrain.

• Protective without being reactive.

• Calm under uncertainty.

• Able to anticipate problems before others notice them.

• Comfortable taking responsibility for environmental safety decisions.
