Federal Work Study - Student Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create a welcoming environment in the Office of Campus Ministry through maintaining the cleanliness of the common space and warmly greeting guests as they come through the office.
• Organize and Prepare the Kitchen for Community use:
  1. Make sure all dishes are done and put away
  2. The Microwaves are clean and ready to be used by the community
  3. All counter spaces are cleared and disinfected for community use
  4. Make sure fridge is clean and throw out any old food
• Make sure the Campus Ministry Room is open and ready for students
• Make sure Peanut Butter and Jelly station is clean and ready for use
• Let the Campus Minister know when we are running low on supplies
• Clean toaster
• Take out trash if needed
• Display case/ bulletin board:
  1. Take down old posts, organize, and create a fun display case every couple of weeks for the community to see
• Social Media:
  1. Post up-coming activities and events
  2. Post positive comments and posts
• Plan a fun event/activity for students monthly for Campus Ministry (you can use other students and Vincentian Leaders to help plan these activities).
• Help find and train volunteers to help with Mass parts weekly
• Assist in planning and preparing for campus wide events operated out of the Office of Campus Ministry.
• Periodic work as assigned by The Campus Minister or the Graduate Assistant (GA) regarding setup/teardown and advertising for events, activities, and prayer experiences.
• Assist in the organization, promotion, and implementation of events, programming, and prayer services presented by the Office of Campus Ministry
• Maintain liturgical spaces around campus.
• Complete the Federal Work Study orientation.
• Provide a calendar of drop-in activities at the beginning of the semester to be shared with the campus community.
• Coordinator of Community Engagement
• Create, promote, and lead a monthly event for campus ministry which provides for wide student body engagement.
• Provide a calendar of community engagement activities at the beginning of the semester to be shared with the campus community
• Responsible for maintaining a weekly calendar for the Maria Hall Chapel and monthly calendar for the Annunciation Chapel.
• Communicate weekly campus ministry events to SGA for their weekly calendar of events.
• Design and maintain a slide show for the TV in the Office of Campus Ministry.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be enrolled as a student at the University of Saint Mary, required
• Must be eligible to participate in the Federal Work Study program, required
• Openness toward religious experiences.
• A basic understanding of how service plays a key role in the mission of our university
• Comfortable engaging with new people
• A team player with strong communication skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Computer skills or a willingness to learn
• Ability to appropriately handle confidential information
