Job Details: Job Location: Main Clinic - Lubbock, TX, Salary Range: Undisclosed, The Advanced Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing preventive and primary care as a part of a health care team in an ambulatory setting in a particular discipline. The Nurse Practitioner works in collaboration with a physician and provides care under established guidelines agreed upon by the nurse practitioner and the physician.
Duties include:
Providing primary care to patients
Performing initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations
Setting up and monitoring medical equipment
Ordering and administering diagnostic tests
Communicating test results to patients and their families
Recording patient medical histories
Operating and maintaining medical equipment
Qualifications: Education: Registered nurse and successful completion of a certified post-graduate program for nurse practitioners.
Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. BSN or advanced degree, certification and/or license in specialty. Maintains current DEA license. Current in Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (BLS).
Experience: Prefer experience but will consider new graduate.
Expertise: Primary health care
Language: English; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Travel: Occasionally; valid Texas driver’s license and current auto insurance required; must have reliable and safe transportation.
Hours of Work: 8am-5pm M-F with some weekend/evening work. On-call required.

In 1992, Community Health Center of Lubbock (CHCL) was formed by the Lubbock Indigent Healthcare Coalition to respond to the growing needs of the medically under-served. This coalition was made up of many individuals and organizations from across Lubbock.
Over time, the needs of the community grew and, in November 2001, CHCL began providing direct patient care to accommodate this growth. In September 2004, the Chatman and Parkway Clinics became part of CHCL. The Community Dental Clinic began seeing patients in March 2005 and, in July 2008, construction on the Arnett Benson Medical and Dental Clinic was completed. After receiving New Access Point funding, CHCL opened the 96 West Clinic in February 2012 and West Medical and Dental Clinic in April 2012.
Since 1998, CHCL has been accredited by The Joint Commission, which is the accrediting body for healthcare organizations across the world. Many members of the Board of Directors live in the under-served areas and have experienced firsthand the needs of our patients.
