Faculty (Open Rank) Neuromuscular - Neurology, McGovern Medical School

  McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston's Department of Neurology is seeking a non-tenure-track neurologist in our clinical EMG/Neuromuscular Program. The candidate will join a busy and growing subspecialty practice and be part of a dynamic department with all neurologic subspecialties represented.  Besides a busy outpatient practice, we have strong EMG and neuromuscular pathology programs. The group also participates in clinical trials, and there are ongoing translational research efforts in inflammatory/autoimmune neuromuscular conditions. We provide an academic environment with ample research opportunities, teaching medical students, residents, or fellows, or participating in inpatient care, based on the candidate's interests and background.

Position Key Accountabilities: 

The primary responsibility will be EMGs and clinical care of patients with neuromuscular disorders. Teaching opportunities are available. The position is affiliated with McGovern Medical School, the 11th largest medical school in the nation, a robust Neurology residency program, and an ACGME-accredited Neurophysiology/EMG Fellowship program.
 

Qualifications:

*Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
*Graduates of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited neurology residency.
*Completion of a neurophysiology or neuromuscular fellowship
*Active board-certification and be licensed in the State of Texas (or eligible to be licensed).
*Outstanding clinical, interpersonal, and communication skills, coupled with excellent administrative and organizational abilities.
