Exploritorium Leader

Job Details: Job Location: Oakton Community Center - Skokie, IL, Position Type: Part Time, Salary Range: $15.00 - $17.00Hourly, The Exploritorium is hiring! The Exploritorium Leader is responsible for supervising patrons visiting the Exploritorium and for leading age-appropriate activities that promote and encourage a positive learning and play experience and environment for small children. 

Job duties:

Responsible for supervising the guests of the Exploritorium during hours of operation.
Ensures that the Exploritorium is clean and operating up the the District's service, cleanliness and safety standards.
Sets up and puts away program supplies, play equipment and toys.
Promotes safety by supervising patrons to ensure that rules and policies are being followed.
Completes general program tasks as assigned.
Greets and interacts with public in a courteous and knowledgeable manner.
Assists the Exploritorium and Events Supervisor in planning and implementation of Exploritorium activities and special events.
Assists customers an Exploritorium staff with questions and concerns. 

Weekday afternoons needed.
Qualifications: Applicant must be a creative, enthusiastic, and energetic adult who enjoys working with people and engaging with young children. Strong customer service skills and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment are essential. Applicants must be comfortable assisting families, answering questions, enforcing facility guidelines, and completing regular cleaning and sanitizing tasks throughout the shift. Experience working with young children is strongly preferred.  Must be a responsible adult, at least 18 years of age with a High School diploma or equivalent (GED). Must have at least one year of work experience. Must be available weekdays 1:00-5:30PM.

** This job falls in paygrade PT2. The target hiring range for this position is $15.00 - $17.00 depending on qualifications.
