Position Summary

Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club is seeking a dependable and energetic Expediter to join our Kitchen team. This position will begin on a part-time basis, with the potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance, availability, and the operational needs of the Club.

The Expediter plays a key role in the Kitchen by coordinating the final stages of food preparation and ensuring that orders leave the kitchen accurately, efficiently, and according to the Club’s presentation standards. Serving as an important link between the culinary team and front-of-house staff, the Expediter monitors food tickets, organizes completed dishes, verifies order accuracy, and helps maintain an efficient flow of service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinate the flow of completed food orders from the Kitchen to the front-of-house service team.
Monitor food tickets and communicate with culinary team members to ensure orders are prepared accurately and in a timely manner.
Verify that each order is complete and meets the Club’s standards for quality and presentation before leaving the Kitchen.
Confirm garnishes, accompaniments, modifications, allergy notifications, and special requests.
Organize completed dishes by table and seat position to support accurate and efficient service.
Communicate clearly with chefs, cooks, servers, food runners, and management regarding order status and timing.
Assist with running food to Members and guests when needed.
Help coordinate the timing of multiple courses and tables to maintain a smooth flow of service.
Quickly identify and communicate missing, incorrect, or delayed items to the appropriate culinary team member.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary expediting station.
Assist with stocking and replenishing plates, garnishes, service items, and other supplies needed at the expo station.
Follow all Club standards and applicable requirements related to food handling, sanitation, safety, and cleanliness.
Maintain a professional appearance and positive, team-oriented attitude.
Assist the culinary team with additional duties as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Kitchen management.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant kitchen, culinary operation, private club, or similar hospitality environment is preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to remain composed and organized during high-volume meal periods. Candidates must be dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable communicating between both Kitchen and front-of-house teams.

Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and Club events, is required.

Schedule & Full-Time Potential

This position will initially be part-time, with scheduled hours based on the needs of the Kitchen and Club operations.

There is potential for this position to transition into a full-time opportunity. A transition to full-time employment is not guaranteed and will depend on factors including job performance, reliability, availability, scheduling needs, and the Club’s staffing requirements.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, reach, lift, and carry food-service items; safely handle plates and trays; and work in a fast-paced Kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, noise, and varying temperatures.
