Exercise Physiologist: Cardiac Rehabilitation

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• The Exercise Physiologist assists participants in Rehabilitation program in achieving his/her optimal functional capacity through exercise, education, and risk factor modification.
• This role provides appropriate assessments, interventions and evaluation of patients with consideration of developmental milestones.
• Identifies safety concerns in age-related population and institutes appropriate measures.
• Monitors cardiac dysrhythmia.
• Conducts new participant orientation.
• Documents timely and accurately participant activities, progress, and patient education provided.
• Utilizes appropriate resources regarding participant problems or unusual responses to exercise.
• Cleans and stocks work area.
• Trains new employees and offers assistance to less experienced employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or related field required.
• Previous experience in dysrhythmia detection and identification required.
• Master’s Degree in related field preferred.
• Experience with EKG monitoring/education preferred.

• Current BLS Certification required.

• ACLS required within first year of employment.
