SUMMARY:

The Environmental Services Engineer will perform any combination of light cleaning duties to maintain assigned facilities in a clean and orderly manner. The position is also required to perform heavy cleaning duties such as shampooing rugs, stripping and waxing floors, as well as movement of furniture at the direction of the Environmental Services Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Ensure the tribal standards of cleanliness are achieved and maintained for assigned properties when providing environmental service such as:

Service, clean, and replenish supplies in restrooms.
Clean and maintain building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
Gather and empty trash from tribal offices, buildings, and outside areas near entry/exit doors.
Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning supplies.

Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment necessary to perform daily tasks and notify supervisor to replenish supply inventory.

Knowledgeable and aware of the locations of hazardous material (HazCom), Bloodborne Pathogens and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Notify supervisor concerning the need for structural repairs or operational issues to mechanical systems.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED, or obtain GED within one year. One year of Environmental service or housekeeping experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
