Summary

The Events Manager and Coordinator are responsible for executing high-energy virtual events, managing participant support, and troubleshooting issues in real-time. They collaborate to lead check-in calls, provide performance feedback to organizers, and ensure all program materials are effectively utilized to maximize participant completion.

Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

Relentless motivates thousands of low-turnout voters to become relational organizers through high-energy, community-focused, and educational virtual events. Our events provide participants with an experience of enthusiasm, support, and confidence for the work they are doing—so they can continue to be trusted messengers to their communities.

The Events Manager executes these virtual events, maintaining consistent quality, supporting our participant-facing Program Organizers (POs), and troubleshooting participant issues in real time, always striving for improvement. They are the manager on duty for all of our events, and are responsible for adjusting and enhancing each program to boost participant completion.

The Events Coordinator lives and breathes event support, and acts as the first level of support for POs during their event shifts – answering the questions they can, escalating those they can’t, and keeping the Events Manager informed of how each event they were on went, observing and escalating any sticky spots or improvements that could be made.

Our program participants will come from a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels, and you should be genuinely excited by that — energized by meeting each one where they are and making sure everyone has what they need to complete our program and feel energized by their role in our country’s democracy.

While the Events Manager will lead, the Events Coordinator will support the team as together you lead check-in calls with POs for their events shifts, provide targeted feedback on PO performance, and make sure we are supporting our participants with the information and tools they need to successfully complete the program. The Events Team will own complex and escalated issues during events, loop in senior members of staff when necessary, and coordinate with multiple departments to answer participants' questions in a timely and efficient manner. The Events Manager makes the game plan, and the Events Coordinator helps to execute.

Events Manager: This is a full-time cycle role with an anticipated start date of September 22nd and an end date of November 6th, 2026.

Events Coordinator: This is a full-time cycle role with an anticipated start date of September 29th and an end date of November 6th, 2026.

DETAILS & COMPENSATION

Location: Remote

Compensation: Events Manager: $6,000/month, Events Coordinator: $5,250/month

Schedule: Full-time

Hours Expectations: This role requires a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends, to accommodate recruitment and event volume. We anticipate a six day workweek in the final stretch, starting in October and running through Election Day.

JOB DUTIES

  • Events Manager: Own the execution of events end to end – ensure participants are informed and supported, maintain consistent quality of event presentation, and understand the common questions and issues, escalating useful information to senior leadership.
  • Events Coordinator: Oversee and support our virtual events, using your experience to maintain consistent quality, escalate issues, and propose improvements to the Events Manager that maximize participant completion.
  • Events Manager: Monitor data and metrics and turn them into actionable improvements to the event program and materials, with the goal of helping as many participants complete our program as possible.
  • Implement a training program for over 50 Program Organizers, making sure they have the information and tools necessary to lead high energy virtual events.
  • Events Manager: Directly manage the Event Coordinator, providing direction and feedback as they support and lead their own events each day.
  • Ensure that our part-time staff is informed and supported during each event shift. This looks like:
    • Collaborating together to lead check-in calls at the start of every PO’s event shift throughout the day – giving updates as information changes throughout the course of the program and reconnecting POs to the greater purpose of Relentless’s work.
    • Being the Managers-On-Duty for every event shift – handling questions in the Slack channel, jumping in with clarifying information, and handling any difficult participants.
  • Provide feedback on individual PO’s performance to the Deputy Director of Programs, Organizer Experience to ensure our participants get the best experience possible with our events team.
  • Events Manager: In collaboration with the Content Logistics Manager and Inbox Manager, you’ll ensure that our robust FAQs and Knowledge Base is updated throughout the program so that our POs have everything they need to answer questions on live events.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as they come up, with the expectation that your day-to-day mix of work will shift with program needs.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Events Manager: Experience managing and leading staff, with a preference for those with experience leading external-facing teams.
  • Events Coordinator: Leadership or Team Captain experience a plus, with a preference for those with experience leading a team of vols or part-time staff.
  • Excitement about working with participants that span a range of backgrounds and experience levels, and energy for meeting each person where they are and setting everyone up to succeed and feel empowered to make change in their communities.
  • You’re a strong, warm communicator who’s genuinely energized by supporting and motivating a team, empowering teammates who feel discouraged, and reconnecting organizers to a greater purpose.
  • You value information and data and actively seek out opportunities to understand the program better in order to implement it more effectively. You ask questions, get clarification, and have the discernment to decide when to escalate issues to senior management.
  • You stay cool under pressure, have patience for a variety of communication styles, and are eager to meet participants and part-time staff where they’re at each day.
  • Comfort and energy in fast-paced, scaling environments where priorities shift and you adapt with the team, ready and excited to jump in wherever needed during events.
  • Access to a computer and reliable internet.

We’re excited about candidates who lead with empathy, care about accessibility in their communication, and are eager to motivate a team of enthusiastic and diverse workers.

About the company

Relentless

Relational organizing is the simple, proven concept that people talking to their friends and family is more effective than strangers talking to strangers. In an age when trust in institutions is low, the messenger is as (if not more!) important as the message.

Relational organizing isn't new, but it's become increasingly critical. Over the past few cycles, high-profile campaigns leveraged relational tactics to win the Iowa caucus, elect Joe Biden, and flip the Senate. Now, targeted, goals-driven relational programs that train people at scale to engage, persuade, and mobilize their networks need to be a core part of any organizing strategy.
