Event Mgr.

Summary: The Seasonal Events Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Special Events in the coordination and management of Celebration in the Oaks event. This position interacts with the public and manages staff during the event, ensuring a positive experience for all. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned:

Driving tour -

• Manage daily setup and take down of driving tour tent operations, including scanners, safety cones, and lights
• Oversee and manage driving tour ticket scanners
• Troubleshoot any customer issues on-site
• Trouble shoot and communicate any Wi-Fi issues with on-site ticketing issues

Walking tour -

• Turn on and off all lights in Botanical Garden each operating night.
• Oversee and manage the ticket scanners in the Tolmas Center.
• Make sure all equipment is charged up and ready for each day.
• Check the grounds on an hourly rotating basis for any light outages and report same to CITO foreman.
• Handle any/all customer issues

qualifications and education requirements: 

• High School diploma or GED; and one to three years of related experience and/or training.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Successful planning of medium-sized and large events.
• Excellent organizational and communicative skills.
• Excellent computer skills with knowledge of computer graphics, e-blasting, Word, Excel and Power Point.
• Ability to make independent decisions, as well as practical problem-solving.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Season runs from November 27, 2026 - January 1, 2027
5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Seasonal, 31-40 hours per week from November to December.
