ER Registration - PRN

 The Emergency Room Registration Clerk will register patients as they present to the facility for emergency care. This is a PRN position, meaning your schedule may vary and is based on need.  There are no benefits associated with this position. 

This position will work closely with the Emergency Department to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed correctly, all insurance verification/information is obtained and documented, and preauthorization of benefits is initiated. Individuals are also responsible for entering patients into the patient accounting system completely and accurately and collecting applicable deductibles and copayments at time of service. Must maintain stated accuracy and pay close attention to detail.  

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent; medical terminology helpful.  

EXPERIENCE: Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards when no direct supervision is given. Must possess and utilize acceptable business telephone and communication skills. Individuals will also have the necessary organizational skills to maintain detailed records of daily workload.  Prefer previous healthcare administrative experience, but not required. 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATES: Current Alabama driver's license.
