Environmental Compliance Internship

U.S. Compliance is seeking motivated college students interested in learning about environmental compliance to apply for a spring semester internship. The program runs January through June. The ideal candidate will be dependable, highly organized, skilled at problem solving and have a genuine interest in learning how environmental regulations impact the manufacturing industry. 

U.S. Compliance interns will have the opportunity to assist facilities across North America to attain and maintain compliance with environmental regulations. Interns work directly with our Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know (EPCRA), Waste & Water, and Air departments to gain valuable experience in environmental compliance, client communication, time management, and general business operations. The position will primarily engage in the preparation and submittal of Tier II hazardous material storage reports. Depending on location and schedules, Interns also have the potential opportunity to visit local clients to observe the industry in practice. 

Key internship responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assessing industrial clients for applicability to regulations
• Reviewing and updating various environmental reporting requirements
• Assisting in completing local, state, and federal reports
• Collaborating with team members

Qualifications:

• In the final semester of a bachelor’s degree program (or higher) in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
• Experience and knowledge working with Microsoft Excel
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Energetic and punctual
• Ability to perform work remotely

Individuals must be able to work 20-25 hours/week throughout the course of the internship; flexible schedules are permitted. Pay rate for internship is $15.00 - $20.00/hour, dependent on experience and regional cost of living.
