Enrichment Coordinator

Job Details: Job Location: Tuolumne Me-Wuk Tribal Council - Tuolumne, CA, Salary Range: $23.00 - $28.00Hourly, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Education, POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Education Manager, the Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for the social and cultural development of the students of the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians.  This position focuses on working with students to develop life skills necessary to successfully complete educational goals.  The coordinator will provide cultural enrichment activities to assist students in learning different subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their future employment successes.  The coordinator serves as an advocate between schools, essential organizations, parents/guardians, and youth.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilitate enrichment activities for the community focused on career development and college awareness.
Work with students (grades 7th through adult) in career assessment and planning.
Manage the Summer Youth Program to help provide career counseling and exploration for students.
Coordinate the scholarship program and meet with students to support them moving toward their goals; ensure students are meeting all scholarship program requirements.
Provide a positive environment for students.
With the collaboration of education instructors, regularly assess Individual Progress Plans with students and create achievement goals.
With the collaboration of education instructors, assist in the achievement of educational goals set within IPPs.
Partner with instructional aide staff on IPP educational goals of students to assist them in meeting the goals.
Assist students in advocating with parents, schools, and essential organizations to reach IPP educational goals.
Assist the Education department in recruiting students and community members to participate in educational programs and cultural events.
Contribute to the Education department calendar of events for parents and students.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Community Education, Education or related area preferred.
Five years of experience in the education field or related experience working with youth.
Possess computer skills sufficient to provide administrative support, oversee online activities, and computer-assisted instruction.
Possess strong organizational skills.
Must have first aid/CPR training or be willing to get training within the first 30 days of employment.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. 
Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing environment.
Flexibility to work hours, as program needs change.
Ability to enforce compliance with safety codes, rules, and regulations in all department programs and activities. 
Must be able to establish rapport with the Indian community and the public schools.
Must be able to develop new educational programs.
Must possess a valid California driver’s license and comply with the requirements of the Tribe’s driving policy and insurance requirements.

Physical Requirements:

This position is deemed a level 2 and requires walking, standing, and sitting for prolonged periods of time; climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching; pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 30 pounds; raising objects overhead; manual dexterity for operation of computer, phones, and small office machines; hearing, talking and good verbal and written communication skills; repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
